Ocean House Wedding with True Event
Lexi and Larry were married on September 9th, with a ceremony and reception at the Ocean House. This stunning wedding, planned by True Event, was so amazing that it was featured in Style Me Pretty!
Lexi and Larry’s Ocean House Wedding by True Event
Lexi and Larry started the day surrounded by their closest friends who helped them to get ready for the big day ahead. Larry’s family has a tradition of spending summers on the Rhode Island coast growing up, and Lexi was excited to share this tradition with them. The gorgeous ocean views were part of the reason Lexi and Larry chose the Ocean House as their wedding venue. This iconic Rhode Island beachfront hotel has breathtaking coastal views from almost every room.
When it came time for the first look between Larry and Lexi, I was able to situate them in a private spot with sweeping views of the water in the background. Whenever they open up their wedding album in the future, I hope they will be transported back to this stunning location.
We joined up with the rest of the family for some portraits out on the lawn of the Ocean House. Later on, they exchanged their vows that afternoon on that same lawn in a tropical-themed ceremony. The design work that Hana Floral did incorporating palm fronds into the chuppah really highlighted their coastal theme. The palm leaf motif was carried throughout the day, creating the ambiance of a romantic oasis.
One of my favorite moments was during that coastal ceremony, when Lexi and her father were about to walk across the lawn to meet Larry at the altar. Suddenly, a rabbit hopped across their path! I consider this to be a symbol of good luck, and it happened at my own wedding night—also right before my father and I walked down the aisle!
After the ceremony, Lexi and Larry walked down to the beach to bask in the reality that they were finally married and to marvel at the beautiful view. Once they had taken that moment alone together, they headed back to join their guests at cocktail hour. Golden light was showering the deck of the Ocean House as the sun began to set.
Their tented reception took place on the croquet lawn and kicked off with Lexi and Larry’s first dance. This was another favorite moment of mine, as Larry picked Lexi up and twirled her around during the dance. And after that, everyone partied while the band Sugar Lane brought down the house with amazing, Nicki Minaj-worthy performances.
