Kira + David
This Boston wedding was a little bit bittersweet for Kira and David because a week after the celebration of their love, they would say goodbye to the city where they met, and move to the West Coast. But really, what better way to gracefully transition to the next big phase in a couple’s life than to pledge vows to support each other, gather your favorite family and friends, feed them excellent locally sourced food and dance the night away? David is a chef, and he met Kira while they were working in a restaurant together, so I knew two things would be true about this wedding: spot on amazing food, and a group of people who love to have fun. Kira and David have this lighthearted joy about them, and a wonderful laid back approach. They had their ceremony in the heart of Boston in the Old North Church of “One if by land, and two if by sea” fame. As we left the ceremony, the stretch limo had to do a twenty point turn on the narrow streets of the North End, and instead of wringing their hands, the entire wedding party was cheering, and getting the dance party started. That’s how this crew rolls.
When I first met Kira and David, I had recently moved back to Boston and wasn’t yet familiar with the amazing reputation of Row 34. Their motto is “If we could eat oysters and drink beer for every meal period, we probably would.” Definitely my kind of place. Kelly Shea Fay is an absolute joy to work with both coordinating details ahead of time, and during the event. The food is quite possibly the tastiest, and freshest seafood you’ll get in Boston along with a beer and wine list hand selected to compliment the dishes. And to say I was excited to hear the mixes by Beat Train Productions would be an understatement. These music magicians were the mix masters for our wedding which was quite possibly one of the most epic dance parties ever. Jeff Durand kept the crowd moving late into the night, complete with dance battles.
